Mystical Valleys & Meadows: 6-Day Jibhi, Tirthan & Shangarh Escape
This offbeat 6-day expedition takes you deep into the heart of Himachal's lesser-explored regions—the Tirthan and Sainj Valleys. Moving away from bustling tourist hubs, you will discover the rustic charm of traditional Kath Kuni architecture, dense pine forests, and pristine rivers. The journey beautifully intertwines nature with local mythology and Hinduism, taking you to the sacred Serolsar Lake, dedicated to the local deity Mata Budhi Nagin, and the legendary Shangarh meadows, believed to be the exile home of the Pandavas and protected by Lord Sangchul Mahadev. Complete with authentic Pahari cuisine and warm mountain hospitality, this trip is a perfect blend of adventure, spirituality, and relaxation.

Itinerary
Day 1: Delhi ➝ Aut (Overnight Volvo)
Your journey with Lost Escapes begins in Delhi. Board your comfortable, AC overnight Volvo bus in the evening (usually departing from Majnu Ka Tila or Kashmere Gate). Settle in for a relaxing overnight drive as you leave the city behind and head towards the foothills of the Himalayas. Wake up to the fresh mountain air as you approach the Kullu Valley.
Day 2: Aut ➝ Jibhi | Waterfall & Village Walks
Arrive in Aut in the morning, where our private vehicle will pick you up for a scenic drive along the river to the quaint hamlet of Jibhi. Check into your riverside stay or wooden cottage to freshen up and relax. In the afternoon, take a short, beautiful nature walk to the hidden Jibhi Waterfall, nestled deep within a lush forest with small wooden bridges. Spend the rest of the day exploring the local village, admiring the traditional Kath Kuni (wood and stone) architecture, and enjoying your first taste of authentic Pahari cuisine at dinner.
Day 3: Jalori Pass ➝ Serolsar Lake Trek | Back to Jibhi
After breakfast, embark on a thrilling, steep drive up to Jalori Pass, situated at an altitude of over 10,800 feet. From the pass, begin a relatively easy but highly rewarding 5-kilometer trek through dense oak and cedar forests to reach Serolsar Lake. This pristine, high-altitude lake holds deep religious significance and is dedicated to Mata Budhi Nagin, a revered local deity. Take in the spiritual tranquility of the area before trekking back to Jalori Pass. Drive back to Jibhi for a well-deserved, cozy evening by the fire.
Day 4: Jibhi ➝ Tirthan (Gushaini) ➝ Shangarh Meadows
Check out after breakfast and drive toward the magnificent Tirthan Valley. Pass through Gushaini, a serene village sitting right on the banks of the Tirthan River, known as the gateway to the Great Himalayan National Park. Continue your journey into the adjacent Sainj Valley, winding your way up to the magical village of Shangarh. Upon arrival, visit the grand Shangarh Meadow, a vast, velvety green expanse surrounded by towering pine trees. Steeped in Hindu mythology, this land belongs to Lord Sangchul Mahadev and is said to have been carved out by the Pandavas. Check into your homestay or camp, and enjoy a peaceful evening under the stars.
Day 5: Shangarh Local | Barshangarh Waterfall ➝ Aut (Overnight Volvo)
Wake up to a golden Himalayan sunrise over the meadows. After breakfast, head out for a short trek or drive to the Barshangarh Waterfall, beautifully concealed within the rugged terrain of the Sainj Valley. Enjoy the peaceful surroundings and snap some memorable photos. Head back to your accommodation to pack and enjoy one last delicious Pahari meal. In the late afternoon, drive down from Shangarh to the Aut tunnel drop-off point to board your evening Volvo bus back to Delhi.
